On Saturday, April 23, 2012, over 20 members of the Opera Philadelphia Chorus gave unsuspecting Phillies fans at the famous Geno's Steaks, cheesesteaks "wit" a side of Verdi, performing "Vedi le fosche notturne," the "Anvil Chorus" from IL TROVATORE.
The performance was one of 1,000 Random Acts of Culture taking place nationally during a three-year period funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Knight Foundation's Random Acts of Culture bring artists out of the performance halls and into the streets and our everyday lives.
