For the Love of Opera: Celebrating RBG's 88th Birthday

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was notoriously passionate about opera. To mark her 88th birthday, Opera Philadelphia, the National Museum of American Jewish History, and the Lowell Milken Center for Music of American Jewish Experience at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music partnered to celebrate RBG with performances of some of her favorite opera arias. Rebroadcast of Facebook Live event on March 15.
The program features performances from NMAJH’s Dell Theater by tenor Joshua Blue, baritone Norman Garrett, and sopranos Michelle Rice and Ashley Marie Robillard; piano accompaniment by Stephen Karr and Grant Loehnig; as well as remarks and reflections by Francesca Zambello (stage director, artistic director for the Washington National Opera and the Glimmerglass Festival), Lawrence Brownlee (tenor, Artistic Advisor of Opera Philadelphia) and Peter Kazaras (stage director, tenor, Director of Opera UCLA).
